1. The agreement
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a contract between you ("you") and the developer of PDF Editor AI ("we," "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
These Terms also incorporate Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple EULA"). Where these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict, these Terms apply, except for terms required by Apple.
2. License to use the App
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple App Store's usage rules. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent applicable law permits.
- Resell, sublicense, or lease the App or any part of it.
- Use the App to build a competing product or for unlawful purposes.
3. Your content & account
You retain all rights to the documents, scans, annotations, and signatures you create or import into the App ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership over Your Content and we do not need a license to it for the App to work, because Your Content stays on your device.
You are responsible for backing up Your Content. We strongly recommend turning on iCloud sync or connecting Dropbox so that an additional copy of your files exists outside of the device.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App to:
- Process content you don't have the right to use.
- Infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.
- Create or distribute fraudulent, defamatory, or unlawful documents — including signatures placed without authority.
- Interfere with the operation of the App or attempt to extract data from other users.
- Bypass any technical limits, paywalls, or entitlement checks.
5. Subscriptions & renewals
The App offers an optional Pro subscription that unlocks the full editor, AI features, unlimited signing, and cloud sync. Subscriptions are sold on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or yearly) or as a one-time lifetime purchase, depending on the offering shown in the App Store at the time of purchase.
- Payment: Charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-renewal: Recurring subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.
- Manage / cancel: Manage or cancel anytime in your iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- Pricing changes: If we change the price of a recurring subscription, the new price will only apply after Apple notifies you and gets your consent where required.
6. Free trials
Some subscription plans include a free trial. Eligibility is determined by Apple. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription will automatically convert to paid at the price shown when you signed up.
7. Refunds
All subscription purchases are processed by Apple. We are not able to issue refunds directly. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something has gone wrong, please write to us first — we'll often be able to help directly without needing a refund.
8. AI output
The App's AI features (summarization, chat, translation, extraction, form auto-fill) are powered by Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework. AI output can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong, and may not reflect the meaning of the underlying document.
You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it, and for not using AI output for purposes that require professional advice (legal, medical, financial, regulatory, safety-critical) without verifying it with a qualified professional. We make no warranty that AI output is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.
9. Third-party services
The App integrates with Apple iCloud (CloudKit), Apple's Foundation Models framework, Apple Vision (OCR), Dropbox (optional sync), and RevenueCat (subscription state). These services are operated by third parties and governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or behavior of those services.
10. Intellectual property
The App, including its name, logo, design, source code, and underlying technology, is owned by us and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any of those rights to you, except for the limited license described in section 2.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all such warranties.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the App.
Our total cumulative liability to you in connection with the App shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) US$50. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limitations, in which case they apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Termination
You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We can suspend or end your access to the App if you materially breach these Terms or if continued operation creates a legal, security, or compliance risk for us. On termination, sections that by their nature should survive (license restrictions, IP, disclaimers, liability limits, governing law) will survive.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by the contact method you provided. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence, except where local consumer-protection laws give you stronger rights. Disputes shall first be addressed informally by writing to us; if not resolved, they shall be brought in the courts of competent jurisdiction in your country of residence.
16. Contact
For questions about these Terms, write to support@pdfeditorai.app. We try to respond within a few business days.
